The FAQ
Do you Travel?
Absolutely! I'm putting on my shoes right NOW!
How long have you been doing this?
If you count my "beginnings" as when I was the yearbook photographer in junior high in 1982, uhhh.... 43 years. If you want to know when I flew solo? 2004, or 21 years ago, as I write this in 2025.
How many photos do we get?
You get right to the point, don't you? Typical family, senior, newborn, etc., you're going to see between 80-180. Weddings can be from 900-1400 depending on the event.
Do you retouch photos?
Absolutely! Photoshop and Lightroom.
I use a VERY light hand, I want your images to represent you, the way you are and the way everyone loves you. I will do my best to adjust day-of obstacles like acne or cuts/bruises.
How do we book you?
Wedding clients need to contact me via email (stephaniedebolt@gmail.com) to check that I have the date open - sign my contract and provide a 10% non-refundable retainer to secure the date. That amount will go towards your total.
All other clients need to contact me via email to book their date and pay at time of service via Venmo or check.
How can we pay you?
You may pay me with Venmo or by check at the time of the session.
Whats your turn around time?
Turn around time varies based on my schedule and the season. Generally speaking, everything but weddings should be within the 3-6 week timeframe where weddings might be 5-9 weeks. Occasionally I'm super fast and its a week or two, and other times I ask for your grace.
How do we get our photos?
I use Pixieset, a delivery program that allows me to email you your gallery and you have permission to share that email with family and download them to your computer.
Do you charge extra for images?
NO.
Your session fee includes all the images I use from our session. You do not have to pay extra for your files.
Do we buy prints from you?
No, I recommend sending your files to MPIX.com, Snapfish, Shutterfly or Smallwoods. After you receive your images from Pixieset, they are yours to print however you like.
How far out do you book?
We can book at any time you have a session in mind! I do want to keep wedding dates booked within 12-24 months.
Can you help us with planning?
I am absolutely willing to help you plan! With more than 300 weddings and even more newborns and family sessions I have a good idea of what to do!!!
What happens in a newborn session?
I do them at my home studio on weekdays, typically at 9 am. They can take 2-4 hours.
Sibling and family shots will be first, then siblings are asked to exit the studio for the remainder of the session.
I have plenty of props, wraps and headbands to use, but you are welcome to bring one or two things from home you'd like to use.
Please talk to me of this won't suit your family situation, I will try to make another plan for you!
What should we do for an engagement session?
Your engagement session will be approximately an hours. You may bring 1-2 changes of clothes and plan on having a great time!
What should we wear?
I ALWAYS tell my clients to wear what they are comfortable in. I don't have any expectations or requirements. I want to capture YOU on your photo day, feeling great.
THAT SAID -
I recommend not mixing primary and pastel colors if it can be avoided, or having the entire family in one color.
Do you use a second shooter for weddings?
I can! My wedding pricing is for me only. A second-shooter would be an addiitional $500 for their time and they would be present for 4-6 hours.
Where can I get a canvas print?
Personally, I LOVE Canvas on demand. They are very reasonably priced and I don't feel bad swapping them out every year for the new pics!
