Cheers to New Beginnings!
Please read this page carefully
Those little cheeks, fingers and toes! Preserving these tiny memories is so much fun! I have all the props, backdrops, headbands and blankets we could EVER NEED, but please feel free to bring one or two items from home to personalize your session if you'd like to!
Done in my home studio on weekday mornings at 9 AM, the sessions will be prepared and ready to go when you arrive!
On occasion, daddies can't make it to the studio session because of work obligations, in those instances, I will offer a quick evening family shoot with daddy and siblings at the end of my workday and we keep a morning appointment with JUST mama and newborn.
SIBLINGS
TO ENSURE A SMOOTH AND FOCUSED SESSION, I KINDLY ASK THAT SIBLINGS BE TAKEN HOME OR ON AN ADVENTURE WITH THEIR DAD OR ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER AFTER THEIR PORTION OF THE SESSION IS COMPLETE.
SINCE SESSIONS CAN LAST 3-4 HOURS, AND MY STUDIO IS VERY WARM WITH LIMITED SPACE AND NO ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS, IT'S NOT A COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT FOR LITTLE ONES TO WAIT.
THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING-I WANT TO MAKE THIS EXPERIENCE AS ENJOYABLE AND STRESS-FREE AS POSSIBLE FOR EVERYONE!
Session Preparation
Session preparation:
Where and When:
12516 County Road 46, Millersburg, IN
We live on a dirt road, so if it's raining, snowing or otherwise inclement, I apologize in advance.
I like to schedule the session within the first 21 days, so drop me a line soon after you deliver so I can save you a spot on the schedule. The entrance to my studio is on the West side of my home, and it has a set of steps with a black railing and glass storm door that leads right up to the studio. you may park right at that set of steps. Newborn photography can take 3-4 hours.
I do include sibling and family poses in the price, those will be completed as soon as you arrive to the session. Reminder- Siblings are asked to exit shortly after their portion of the session, if you're local, sometimes parents drive separately, or take them for an "adventure" while I complete the remainder of the session.
What to wear:
I recommend neutral, solid colors for parents and siblings for family poses. The baby will be wrapped in a coordinating color swaddle I will provide. Sometimes, parents bring in outfits for their newborn and occasionally they run too big, or any wording on them ends up lost in the wrinkles. Just food for thought.
Morning of:
Please keep your baby awake for 60-90 minutes before you leave your home and give them a full feeding right before you load up. When you arrive, the combo of extra tired and full should carry over once you arrive.
If you're bottle feeding, please bring more than you might usually need. Between my posing and constant pestering, they'll likely sleep less than at home and need more feedings. If you're breast feeding, we might have to take more feeding breaks. A pacifier, even if just for the day of the session, might help soothe your baby in the moment. I recommend the green Philips Avent ones 0-3 months, I have the most success with those. Also, please know that sometimes even our best efforts might run into a day where your little one might just decide it's a cluster-feed day, gassy tummy day, or wide awake day. We will work with all of those! Gas drops and gripe water are welcome in the studio if you're comfortable using them.
SO MANY BABIES!
