 Meeting Beth and James (Farmer, as Beth adoringly calls him) for the first time, I was blown away. She's funny, oh so real and positivity just exudes from her soul. James is affable, a bit reserved at first, and mesmerized by her presence. They'll be the first to tell you they met on Match.com and Farmer took Beth (a vegetarian) to a BBQ joint on their first date. That started the laughter between them and it's never stopped. The morning of the wedding, Beth and her bridesmaids spent the morning in the home of her dear friend Mary. Beth babysat for Mary's children who are now mostly grown and their relationship is more like family. Makeup, hair, accessories and a brunch started the day off so relaxed and happy.  So many special details came together-Farmer is of course, a farmer. His dairy herd couldn't make it to the wedding, but Beth saw to it that the venue was decorated with many quaint touches of things that are special to the two of them. Cowbells, Grandmother's china, Holstein print, twine, lace and ribbon were just a few special things.   Anticipation. It gets me every single time. In the few moments before they see each other dressed and ready for the wedding, each of them admitted to a few butterflies of excitement. Personally, It's my favorite moment of the day.  After the weather we'd had all winter, I felt so blessed that their wedding day was the FIRST Saturday since Thanksgiving that wasn't accompanied by precipitation of some sort! It was chilly and breezy at 38 degrees, but the bridal party were troopers. Again, laughter (and hats and jackets) got us through!   My second favorite time of the day? Running away for a little private time with the bride and groom.  Beth and her mother. There are no words.   Thank you, Beth and Farmer, for allowing me to be present on your first, best day. I hope your future is filled with many, many more!  |
